APPLICATION : THE WET METHODThis method is RECOMMENDED FOR MOST APPLICATIONS. It is much more forgiving and allows for easier placement and bubble removal for decals of larger size or with more solid areas. . We put a phone book under an un-stretched head to create a solid work area.. Clean the Area thoroughly. We're rather fond of rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol for drum heads, but due to variances in drumhead ages and brands, ALWAYS test first. You clean at your own Risk. Your goal is a residue free surface. New heads usually work right out of the box, just wipe with a damp cloth to get any dust off. We made a decal like this for Teeze's drums. Step 1 (Picture 1) -Ooh and Aahh at Your New Custom Drum Decal. Step 2 (Picture 2) - Squeegee, starting from the middle working to the outsides, to make sure that the top transfer layer is correctly positioning the decal. Buy one of our squeegees for sale, or use two credit cards held together for best results. Step 3 (Picture 3) - Remove backing by carefully pulling up top layer. Make sure everything is sticking to the top layer as you pull up. if not, lay back down on backing and re-squeegee. Step 4 (Picture 4) - First grab an absorbent paper/cloth towel. Mix a gallon or so of water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Use a spray bottle and wet the area where decal is to be applied. Get it really wet. Step 5 (Picture 5) - Apply to wet surface. Slide it around until you are happy with your positioning. If it starts to dry, re-wet or it will bond. Step 6 (Picture 6) - Squeegee. Use your squeegee working from the center to the outside. Work all of the fluid out and any bubbles too. Step 7 (Picture 7) - Clean area with your paper towel. Step 8 (Picture 8) - Remove the transfer tape by slowly pulling at an angle, carefully making sure all pieces are stuck. If they just won't stick, then either your surface is too dirty and may have damaged sticker, or your solution is too soapy. Try to save a dirty sticker by cleaning surface again and using the wet method to re-apply. Remix solution if it's too soapy. Step 9 (Picture 9) - Your done! and it looks Great! Clean gently. Watch those edges and sharp points. Adhesion will continue to improve over the next 24 hours.. |
